What horrors truly lie deep in the veins and arteries of our own fragile human bodies: a wolfen strain, alien DNA; what effect do old bio-weapons have on it and is the taste of warm blood in our mouths a forbidden step too far….

Last Train…a commuter oversleeps on the train home from London to find himself in a fog bound village of the dammed.

Dreams by Moonlight…Brianna Phillips comes face to face with the creatures that have invaded her dreams since childhood: now an adult dare she let herself be caught?

Frozen…..Deep in the snowy wastes an ancient corpse is found, could it be alien, or is the danger a human treat after all.

Lunch with Pete…….A business lunch goes bloody as an underdone steak and the red stuff on the tablecloth is not ketchup.

The Amorous Weekend

July 19, 2009 at 3:18 am (Uncategorized)

Wild Horse Press is releasing a new short story on Tuesday called The Amorous Weekend, by Kathryn Gerbert.  You can find it for pre-sale at All Romance Ebooks for $3.98.

Tony and Lori Johnson have settled into married life. On the outside, everyone thinks they have a good marriage. But they have one major problem spot – sex. Lori is reticent when it comes to sex, not quite feeling comfortable with the act itself. While she wants to have a happy marriage with her husband, she would be more comfortable if it didn’t include sex. Will Lori finally be able to let go and enjoy herself? Or is she doomed to be a reserved lover…

Ms. Gerbert’s other story, The One That Got Away, was released earlier this year.  It can be purchased in e-book format at Wild Horse Press, All Romance Ebooks, or Amazon Kindle.

Praise for The One That Got Away

I enjoyed reading about Jennifer and Jared and their honeymoon relationship that developed into a serious romance… If you want a quick but generally satisfying read, then The One That Got Away is one for you.
Manic Readers

Gerbert endeared her storyline to me by the evidence of confusion and revenge she exhibited in the jilted bride. There was comedic relief as well as poignant situations. There’s definitely something for everyone in this book.
The Romance Studio

I am positive most will enjoy it and find it a fun read overall.

New in my world …

July 13, 2009 at 9:35 pm (Jessica Coulter Smith)

In August 2009, my first novel, Whispering Lake, will be re-released by Wild Horse Press. This tale was previously listed with Hearts on Fire, but has a new cover and some never before read scenes! An excerpt is available on my website (http://www.jessicacoultersmith.webs.com). The story’s been cleaned up a little and there’s an extra dose of magick and suspense. :)

In Ocotber 2009, you can expect the next installment in the Ashton Grove Werewolves series, Moonlight Guardin. In the 3rd book of the series, we get a closer look at Michael Andrews, the wild one of the bunch… or is he?

And probably the most exciting news for me … I’ve started my first YA paranormal romance – Heart’s Desire. It won’t be released until 2010, but I already have a cover posted on my website. This is actually a story I started over 10 years ago and finally pulled it out back out, blew the dust off, and I’m revamping it a little…

Whispering Lake

July 11, 2009 at 5:46 pm (Jessica Coulter Smith, Paranormal Romance, Whispering Lake)

Whispering Lake gets a new publisher and a new cover… but it doesn’t stop there! It’s also getting some never before seen/read scenes!

As of July 2009, Whispering Lake is not available for purchase in it’s previous format.  It has been discontinued through Hearts on Fire Books and is now being offered through Wild Horse Press.

However, it isn’t the same tale as before.  With fresh new scenes, Whispering Lake has been revitalized!  I won’t give away the details for those of you who may not have read it yet, but it has added magick and suspense!

Visit All Romance Ebooks for a sneak peek… you can also pre-purchase a copy through their site prior to the release date (August 25, 2009) for $5.98 e-book.

Trade paperback will be available in September 2009 through Amazon.com and Target.com websites.

Satin & Lace Reviews
The author weaves an amazing and riveting tale of love and desire, hope and fear with a little bit of wicked fun thrown in the mix. This book will stir your senses with the combination of fantasy and reality leaving you wanting more from this amazing new author. This is a must read story.

Red Roses for Authors
Werewolves, witches and ghosts oh, my. This one has all that and suspense that will keep you guessing just where this one will end up.

Long & Short Reviews
Whispering Lake does have a great story line with interesting characters. I loved all the paranormal elements in the book. The romance itself was worth a higher rating with some great love scenes.

Spotlight Review at We Write Romance!

July 4, 2009 at 4:00 pm (Reading)

The review I wrote for My Favorite Phantom is the Spotlight Review at We Write Romance! :)

 null

I enjoyed reading My Favorite Phantom. I wouldn’t say that it was a page turner I just couldn’t put down, but it was definitely worth reading. The writing style was easy to follow; the dialog and actions of the characters were believable (well, maybe not the ectoplasm). Overall, I would recommend it to any fans of paranormal romance.

My Favorite Phantom has a dash of suspense and a blossoming love; throw in a mischievous ghost and a loan shark and you have one heck of a tale! It is definitely much more than just a ghostly love story…
